Speak at Council Meetings

Anyone who wants to speak to Council may do so at regular council meetings, committee meetings, or public hearings. To speak to an item at a Council meeting you must request to speak and if granted, the item will be referred to a committee meeting to hear speakers. Usually Council will allow the request. For public hearings as well, a speakers’ list is created, but people in the room at the end of meeting can typically raise their hand to speak even if not on the list.

To request to speak, e-mail mayorandcouncil@vancouver.ca which goes to the City Clerk’s Office. Or contact the Meeting Coordinator as shown on the agenda for the meeting date.
