STIR Rental Housing Program

Link to page with STIR media release and history
The Short Term Incentives for Rentals (STIR) program has been very controversial since the current Vision Vancouver-dominated Council approved it in June 2009 in response to the financial crisis. The program waives fees and parking, and provides density bonusing for developers to produce market rentals at an estimated average cost of $100,000 per unit, without any guarantee of affordable rents. NSV is on record as being opposed to this program.
